Statement of Beliefs

Faith Presbyterian Church is a fellowship of Christians who come from a variety of backgrounds in Christendom, but who unite in acknowledging the lordship of Jesus Christ.

We confess that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and gratefully acknowledge that we are saved from the guilt and penalty of sin by grace, God’s unmerited favor, through faith in Jesus Christ. As Christians, we are called to a new life in obedience to Jesus.

We accept the Divine inspiration, authority, and relevance of the Bible to our life today. Through preaching, group Bible study, and encouragement of private reading of the Bible, we attempt to understand God’s will for us. We acknowledge the Holy Spirit as the One who guides us to understand and obey God’s Word.

We attempt to find unity in essential matters of belief and practice while respecting diversity on non-essential elements of life and faith. We are in the Reformed tradition of Christendom, but joyfully acknowledge the unity of all believers in the Body of Christ, the Church.

We encourage each person in fellowship with us to use his/her gifts and means in such a way that the church becomes increasingly strong. We believe in sharing one another’s burdens.

We believe it is the privilege of every Christian to be an “Ambassador of Christ,” carrying the Good News of the Gospel to others by word and deed.

We participate in the extension of the Gospel beyond our congregation by supporting and encouraging the work of home and foreign missions.
